Shirley Chisholm State Park
Panoramic Views from Brooklyn
Just off the Belt Parkway on exit 14, one of NYC’s newest State Parks sits 130 feet above sea level.
Named in honor of the Brooklyn born trailblazer, Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm – the Shirley Chisholm State Park has 10 miles of hiking/biking trails. There are also picnic tables, bike rentals, guided tours (on hold at this time), and piers.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Empire State Building, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, NY Harbor to the west, and Jamaica Bay to the south. ☀️🚲
Pack a lunch, bring sunblock, and wear good shoes (paths are rocky). Bike rental may be suspended due to Covid-19. Parking lot is currently configured for social distancing, bathrooms are port-a-potties.
