Just off the Belt Parkway on exit 14, one of NYC’s newest State Parks sits 130 feet above sea level. Named in honor of the Brooklyn born trailblazer, Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm – the Shirley Chisholm State Park has 10 miles of hiking/biking trails, picnic tables, bike rentals, guided tours, piers and panoramic views of the Empire State Building, the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, NY Harbor to the west and Jamaica Bay to the south. ☀️🚲
Pack a lunch, bring sun block, and wear good shoes (pathes are rocky). Bike rental might currently be suspended due to covid19. Parking lot is currently configured for social distancing, bathrooms are port-a-potties.
