Brooklyn Museum Reopens!
Studio 54: Night Magic
Finally! The Brooklyn Museum is reopening on September 12th with the Studio 54: Night Magic exhibition.
This highly anticipated exhibit will be on display until November 8th. It traces the radiant history, social politics, and trailblazing aesthetics of the most iconic nightclub of all time – Studio 54.
As part of a safe reopening, all tickets are timed, with entry every 15 minutes. To limit the number of people in the galleries, only the 1st and 5th floors will be open. There are numerous safety protocols in place.
This exhibit highlights the revolutionary creativity, expressive freedom, and sexual liberation celebrated at this world-renowned nightclub. It also features more than 650 objects ranging from fashion, photography, drawings, never-before-exhibited costume illustrations, and film – to stage sets and music.
“Studio 54 has come to represent the visual height of disco-era America: glamorous people in glamorous fashions, surrounded by gleaming lights and glitter, dancing ‘The Hustle’ in an opera house.” – Matthew Yokobosky, Senior Curator of Fashion and Material Culture, Brooklyn Museum
